Styling that plaid shirt.

Plaid shirts may be old school and cliché, but they can still help you make style statements. After all, don’t we all want to leave our first impression girls? *Run The World plays in background*

So go grab one of those plaids, and get ready to change your style. Here are some things you can do to use your plaid to suit you well-

1)   Jacket- Going for a casual look? Nothing better than using your plaid shirt as a jacket, and throwing it over your light-colored t-shirt. Wearing Denim pants or some cool black shorts, is totally your choice.

2)   Tie it up- Oh no, you don’t use it as a tie. Just grab the sleeves of your plaid, and tie your shirt around your waist with them. Again, this works on Jeans and shorts, so you can wear whatever you’re comfortable in.

3)    Formal/semi-formals- A formal meet? Some project? The plaid to the rescue. Just wear your plaid shirt, the normal way, and throw a black blazer/shrug over it, and obviously formal pants. For an edgy semi-formal look, just do the same as formal, but pair it with denim pants instead.

4)   Bandana- Have a worn out plaid that you’re not going to use? Well, here’s what you can do. Cut strips of it, long enough, that you can tie it on your head. And that is how you use it as a headwear.

5) Cut em Sleeves- Grab those scissors girl! Cut out the sleeves of your plaid, that go beyond your shoulder.  And there you go! You have a sleeveless plaid, ready to wear. Alternatively, you can use this as a jacket too.

#Opinion- Aish's Lilac Lipstick at Cannes'16

I have been inactive for almost a year, but I had boards and a very hectic schedule. Now that I have the time, I'm back to being active :) Or atleast trying 

First things first, the shade is NOT Purple. Purple is darker. Way darker than that, and it doesn't stand out the way the one Aish wore did. I'd rather call the shade she wore Lilac.
From what I hear, the lipstick she wore is by L'oreal, and not available in India. I don't know if one can order it online and import it in India, but I checked the major Indian B2C websites, and it isn't available there.

On the other hand, we do have some dupes of that shade available in the market. M.A.C. happens to have one of the closest ones, but I don't know the name of it. M.A.C has quite a few shades on the Lilac/Purple side, so there's pretty much a lot of variety if you're interested.. In my opinion though, do not splurge on M.A.C. The major reason is the fact that they test their products on animals, and I do not support that, and believe that no one should. I own one M.A.C. lipstick and it will be my last M.A.C product until they stop this abuse. Animals are living creatures too. The innocent creatures do not deserve such torment. One can be a little compassionate and avoid M.A.C products.
The second reason is that M.A.C products are,in my opinion, really pricey. I think a lipstick is for a minimum of INR 850, which is a lot. Though if you're willing to spend that much on ONE product, and can live with the fact that a few animals died so that you can use this product, then you can go ahead and give it a try.

Personally, I didn't really like the shade she is wearing, so I didn't go out trying to find a similar shade. The reasons for it is, it's too bright a shade for my liking. Now I do own some neon shades, but those are in oranges and pinks, and can go with a few outfits here and there. I don't think Lilac is going to go with any of my outfits. Nor would I like wearing a Lilac one, for that matter. Aish sports it well, and I can see a few people drooling over it on social media, but I think it's a shade that won't suit a majority. Moreover it will stand out, whoever wears it regardless of their skin tone. I, thus, do not believe on splurging on such a shade.
That's all for this post :)

Organistick Lipstick

Organistick is a new brand of Organic Lipstick, with the goodness of jojoba oil and shea butter. I spotted a few of these at a local beauty and cosmetic store, and thought, why not give it a try? So, today I'm reviewing the Organistick Lipstick. Hope it helps you.

The shade that I have is Organistick Lip color 03, which is a dark shade of Red, somewhat Crimson. The Lipstick is absolutely smooth, and moisturizing as well. I've used it a few times, and it is quite long lasting and lasts for about 5-6 hours at least(or for me it did!).

The packaging is pretty attractive if you ask me. The lipstick is in a silver holder, and has a outer transparent covering as well at the bottom part. This part has floral patterns on it, and the cap of it(the top) is a transparent one, making it easy for the person using it, to check the shade. I personally feel this is pretty convenient when even checking the testers, as well as at home, when you're choosing a shade to apply.

The cost of this lipstick is INR 140. You can also order this online at flipkart or snapdeal. I personally think that it is pretty cheap and affordable, compared to all the famous brands whose cheapest lipstick is at INR 300 at least. You get quality and enough quantity for an affordable price.

Since it is a new brand, I see no advertisement of it whatsoever. But, I hope they take care of it soon, since I really like their lipstick, and I'm glad I found it at a local store.

At the end, I'd say there is no harm in giving it a try. I recommend it, and use it too. I hope this helps you decide.

Summer Essentials !

SUMMER IS HERE! Okay, that was too cliché. It's hot and humid 365 days a year in Mumbai. But the sun is literally sending flames to us right now in May. So I decided to make a blog post dedicated to Essentials required this Summer. So here we go. I'm going to segregate them so that it is easy for you all to read and figure it out.

Skin-
1) Lakme CC Cream- I recently got Lakme's CC(Clear Complexion) Cream, and I'm absolutely loving it. It is very smooth, and blends with your skin tone easily. You get fair glowing skin easily with this and it lasts pretty long..(at least for a few hours).
Cost- INR 250

2)Neutrogena Fine Fairness Cleanser-  This cleanser is very effective, if you are exposed to sun, dust, etc. for a long time daily. You can use this cleanser once or twice a day, as per your convenience(morning and evening maybe?). It makes your skin glow a bit, and I feel it also clears up any dust, or any rough particles settled on your skin.
Cost- INR 200

Do not forget any type of Sunscreen lotion if you are going to be exposed to the sun for long hours.

Eyes-
1) Maybelline Colossal Eyeliner- I had recently written a review of this on this blog itself. Maybelline Colossal Eyeliner is easy to apply and long-lasting as well. It defines your eyes, with just one swipe of the eyeliner. I think, it's a must-try for anyone who can't walk out of the house without eyeliner on.
Cost- INR 425

Lips-
1) Maybelline Colour Bloom- Maybelline Colour Bloom is one of Maybelline's lesser known lip balm(probably because Baby Lips has always been promoted much). But Colour Bloom is very effective and also adds a natural shimmer to your lips. It's very long-lasting as well, and stays for about 4 hours at least.
Cost- INR 135

2) Himalayan Lip Balm- This one is specially for people who get chapped lips even in Summer(like me). Himalayan Lip Balm helps in healing them fast. It also adds a little shimmer to your lips, so you can use it in your daily routine as well.
Cost- INR 28

Body-
1) Any moisturizer- Personally, I do not use anything on my hands or legs, but if you have to use something, any moisturizer works. Make sure they have SPF 20 protection, so it will give you protect your skin from the strong sun rays. The only moisturizer I've used is by Nivea.

So these are my essentials for the summer. Hope that helped you :)

L'oreal Paris Glam Shine Lip Crayon

Apart from Nail polishes, my next obsession is with all lipsticks, lip glosses, and lip balms. So of course, I'd to order this one, when I saw this pop in my flipkart tab. Today's review is about L'oreal Paris Glam Shine Lip Crayon, and I hope it helps you decide whether you want to buy it or not.

This lip crayon, looks very attractive, and appealing. It's shaped like a crayon, and has a shiny silver cap. The end of this cylindrical crayon(that tapers off into a conical shape, like a normal crayon) can be turned to bring out more of the glossy balm into view.

The crayon is glossy and like a balm at the same time. It's easy to apply BUT not long-lasting.. It may go well for around 2 hours and if you're lucky more than that. But for me, it didn't last that long. The effect it gives is pretty average, nothing pretty great about it. It does give a shiny effect, but I think lip glosses can do better at it.

It costs about INR 350, which is a bit costly seeing that it doesn't deliver good enough quality. You can get a good lip gloss, at a bit higher price, but worth it. L'oreal failed to impress me this time, so not going to recommend this.

I'd not seen advertisements for this anywhere. I found this while shopping on Flipkart. L'oreal Paris' Glam Shine Lip Crayon is available in about 8 different variants(I have Lychee Lust). But as I said, I don't feel it's worth it, but if you still want to go ahead, and buy it, you can get it on Flipkart and Amazon or in any L'oreal store.

That's it for L'oreal Paris Glam Shine Lip Crayon. I hope this review helps you decide whether you want to get this one or not.
I'm really sorry, I haven't been regular. I've coaching classes for almost 8 hours daily, so it has become super hectic for me, and damn tough to manage everything. I'll be trying to post as much as I can though. :(
Also massive thanks to all of you, because now my blog has got 500 views!! More than 500 as I checked today!! :D
Also, I don't mind getting some constructive feedback, so do drop in a comment. If you want me to try out some product, do not hesitate commenting, and I'll definitely check it out.
Ily all. Bye. Take care. :*

Maybelline The Colossal Eyeliner+GIVEAWAY WINNER ANNOUNCED

Apologies for not posting for about 2 weeks. A lot of things came up, and I have a very busy schedule for these vacations. From now on, I'll be posting once in a week instead of twice. Hope you understand.

I'm not an eyeliner person basically, but then, it actually looks good, so it's fine to use it sometimes, I guess. The reason, I don't use it is, I'm a massive failure at applying the liquid eyeliner, and the pencil one, smudges a lot, ruining the look. But then, as you know my love for Maybelline, I couldn't help but buy The Colossal Eyeliner AND I LOVE IT! So as you can guess, today's blogpost is dedicated to the same.

If you can't go without eyeliner, for even a day, then this is a MUST HAVE for you! It is amazingly smooth, easily applicable, and long-lasting(trust me it lasts for about 12 hours). If you are bad at applying eyeliner(like me) but do want to try one, then again, this is a MUST HAVE for you too!

This looks like a pencil, with a conical spongy applicator, but is actually liquid! The pencil-ish structure makes it easy to apply, and the liquid eyeliner is long-lasting and doesn't smudge easily. It also gives an amazing finish and a very fine look to your eyes, enhancing them effectively.

The cost of Colossal Eyeliner is INR 425, but I got it for INR 375, from an official Maybellin
e Outlet. I feel it is pretty affordable, and works like wonders. It is a must try if you ask me.

I don't have any idea if any advertising as such was done. Though I do recall seeing a few banners around about this product, but I got to know about it through twitter in the first place. I feel this product is pretty attractive looking, compact and effective.

I hope this review helps you decide whether you want to buy this or not(YOU SHOULD BUY IT!).
And now, the giveaway winner...

*drumrolls*
Bhavani Hiremath !!!

Congratulations to her! I'll be sending away the goodies as soon as I can. Do keep supporting. For the others who took part, there's always a next time :)

If you want me to try out any other product, do drop in a comment. Also feedback is appreciated ;)

Miss Claire French Manicure Kit + GIVEAWAY!

Apologies for not posting! I was having my college final exams, and needed to study.

Recently, I used Miss Claire's French Manicure Kit(even though I have short nails because I have a very bad nail biting habit xD). So today's blog post is dedicated to the same. I hope my review helps you to decide whether to buy it or not.

This Kit includes a set of three nail polishes(A top coat, A base coat and a white polish) along with a nail buffer and two sets of nail stickers. The instructions on how to use it are given at the back of the kit, but I think they should have given a little detailed explanation, since I had to go on youtube to find out how it is supposed to be used.

The three nail polishes, that are supplied in the Kit, are not up to the mark where quality is concerned if you ask me. I've tried Miss Claire's Blusher Kit and Eyeshadows, and honestly, this nail art kit, fails to impress me.

The cost of this kit is INR 250, which is pretty okay if you ask me. The packaging is great(which is how I ended up buying it, since I have a very bad habit of judging products by their packaging xD). As far as I know, I've never seen any advertisement for Miss Claire's products let alone for this. It's only when you go shopping, that you find about it.

I guess that's as much as you need to know for Miss Claire's French Manicure Kit. I don't actually recommend buying this, since the quality of the polishes isn't up to the mark, and not impressive. I hope this review helped you decide whether you want to give this a try or not.

Now for the better part of it..
